The Termites
with The Gallowgate Murders & Aftrshocks
SATURDAY 30TH MAY 2026
Tickets £13
The Termites return in this, their first Glasgow gig in 20 years.
Formed in Kilmarnock, Scotland, in the mid-1980s, The Termites exploded onto the psychobilly scene with their ferocious blend of punk energy and rockabilly swagger. Known for their raw sound, irreverent attitude, and high-octane live shows, they quickly gained a cult following in the UK and Europe.
The band’s early output included now-classic psychobilly tracks, and they became regular fixtures at festivals such as the Psychobilly Meeting in Spain and Bedlam Breakout. Their debut album ‘Overload’ cemented their place as one of Scotland’s loudest exports and second album ‘Kicked In The Teeth’ took things to a new level (with added fiddle!).
From their 1980s beginnings to their current resurgence, The Termites have stayed true to their DIY roots while constantly evolving. Fierce, uncompromising, and proudly independent, they remain one of psychobilly’s most enduring and respected acts.
Support from ...
The Gallowgate Murders (Edinburgh). They say - “We are the dire streets of Glasgow, the mucky waters o'Leith, polluted Silesian coal mines and the 3am sway of Dublin pubs. We are THE GALLOWGATE MURDERS. Yer booze fuelled gang of celtic bastards, immigrant vagabonds and traveling rovers, boasting male & female fronted duel vocals.” We say – they are all that and more – a perfect bridge between the straight between your eyes sound of the openers and the celtic influenced raw punkabilly of the headliners.
Aftrshocks (Dundee). The Bandcamp page of the night’s opening act description simply states “Cool as fuck band from Dundee” – we can’t disagree! With influences like The Clash , SLF, The Ruts, Sham 69 and of course Scotland’s own - The Skids, Aftrshocks will bring their fast and furious set of original tunes to get the night going with an almighty bang. Do not miss them!
Other information: This event is being promoted by Shrunken Head Promotions alongside 13 Deluxe Records - an independent record and book publishing company, built by artists, for artists.
